Mitch checks my blog every day, but yesterday before he had a chance to see my garden post he came home from work, took the kids for a walk, and came back with plants! It was a surprise. They had visited the Pattison Farm nursery behind our house (the one I've taken literally hundreds of photos of from my deck and even posted some on my blog). The owner had some plants that had not sold and were pretty much on their last leg. They had well overgrown their planters and were pale and yellowish looking. He gave them to Mitch for free--tomatoes and peppers. Fun! They may not live, but what's the harm in trying at this point?
