Micah is doing a unit on the origin of languages and dialects. He had a cumulative quiz yesterday and this was his mulitple choice question:
The language spoken by the mountaineers of West Virginia and Kentucky is:
an English dialect
a Franconian dialect
He chose "Appalachian" for the answer and promptly sent me a note asking if he could have "at least some" credit for it. The correct answer is 'an English dialect.'
I want to ask, "What's the difference?" I'm giving the boy full credit. :)
