Josh is 11!

Poor Josh was so excited for his birthday that he made a countdown chain. It was disappointing, then, to learn that we would be doing school on his birthday. Not to worry, since it is the first week, we are taking things pretty easy. I think the thought of doing school on his birthday was worse than actually doing the schoolwork. ;) He didn't have to do that much.

Josh asked for a white cake with chocolate frosting and sixlets as decorations. I did my best to deliver!

He asked for tacos for dinner, and even convinced me to make meatballs and special sauce for lunch.

At 11 years old, Josh
~is entering 6th grade
~enjoys "algebra" the most in school (finding the missing number in a mathematical equation)
~favorite video games are Minecraft and Lego Dimensions
~wants to be a computer programmer when he grows up (last year he said he wanted to be a video game he's starting to get the right idea!)

~is entering his first year of youth group and is ready to do everything he has watched Micah, Eden, and Caleb do for years
~can usually be found reading a book or playing screens, but also likes to build with Lego or hang out with his brothers and friends

~besides tacos, likes to eat hamburgers, mac & cheese, pizza, and hashbrowns
~prefers vanilla ice cream to almost any other flavor

~is creeped out by blood and scared of giant spiders, bugs that crawl on him, and fire ants
~says his favorite chore is sweeping
~says that one chore he wishes he would never have to do again is wash dishes

~can't wait to be 15 years old so he can start learning to drive a car

~says his favorite hobbies are woodworking, bee keeping, taking things apart

~discovered this summer that he loves sleeveless shirts
~started a lawn mowing business this summer and made a little extra spending money.

Happy Birthday, Josh!! I know from experience that (at least from my perspective) the next four years will fly by and you will be fifteen before we know it.  But for now, we hope that 11 is a good year for you, and we pray that you will "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!" We love you!
